It seems that without realising it i’ve accepted that summer is fading and Autumn is well on its way. After quickly dressing this morning ready for the school run (a new challenge for me now my eldest has just started school) I realised that I’ve subconsciously put on clothes in dark teal and rusty orange colours, finished off with my brown boots - even my husband commented that I had obviously admitted to myself that summer really was over. I love summer. I love the colours, the ease of slipping flip flops on and leaving the house, the picnics and days spent outside and the warm evenings sat out with a glass of wine. But as Autumn approaches and the days are getting shorter and the nights colder (the hot water bottle is definitely back out now!) I’m thinking about all the good that can be found in the darker months - which obviously, as a candle maker, includes candles! My evenings are now more often being spent cuddled up on the sofa with a cosy blanket, glass of wine and candles lit and I’m looking forward to getting the chimney swept so we can start using out log burner once again. The excitement of Halloween (I’m a big fan!) and then the run up to Christmas will come round in no time at all and it’s all making me think that I need to get a move on with all the festive scented candles and the scented pine cone firelighters which need making - they’re always such a winner and will be up on the website and ready to go very soon so watch this space!
Now, before I get completely lost in Autumn and winter, I still need to pray for sunshine and summer weather for this Saturday as it’s my boys ‘sport themed’ birthday party which I’m hoping to have in the garden- wish me luck!
